For maximum safety and optimum performance with the MSR and HSR lamp, the following precautions must be taken:

• Always switch off the mains supply and never handle the lamp or luminaire when hot.
• Do not touch the bulb with bare hands. If touched with hands, clean lamp with denaturated alcohol and wipe with a lint free cloth before installing.
• The lamp should only be operated in a closed luminaire and in combination with appropriate gear.
• The lamp generates UV radiation. Never operate the lamp without appropriate shielding: preferably only in a suitable luminaire.
• When burning, these lamps operate at high pressure and as with any high pressure device, there is a slight risk of arc tube rupture. The risk increases with age, temperature and improper handling of the lamp. Do not use the lamp any longer than its specified life.
• The permissible maximum operating temperatures (e.g. the pinch temperature, the temperature of the bulb wall) as indicated on the product leaflet may not be exceeded.
• The lamp may not be operated at higher than specified power.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS

1. This guarantee only applies for lamps which have been operated under normal conditions in combination with appropriate ballasts, ignition devices and luminaires, strictly observing published operational conditions and instructions for use.
2. Lamp damage caused by careless handling or wrong control gear is not covered by this guarantee.
3. Lamps are guaranteed for transport damage, but when a claim is made, the lamp must be returned in the orginal still sealed plastic bag.
4. Any guarantee claim will only be considered if the guarantee card has been fully completed and is returned together with the defective lamp.
5. The phenomenon of a (slight) instability of the light output (flicker) is inherent to the concept of metal halide lamps when operated on electro-magnetic ballasts, and is therefore not covered by this guarantee. Applying electronic ballasts can eliminate instability.
